Schools
Iqbal is involved in teaching students ranging
from infants to A-level standard in schools and
colleges throughout England. This includes running
drum workshops, and weekly peripatetic teaching.
Through educational work, he has also worked in
close association with the Bournemouth Sinfonietta.
Tours
Currently Iqbal is playing with the Flamenco group
Zambra led by Jero Férec.
Iqbal has toured nationwide with the
multi-cultural band, Boka Halat, at venues such
as the Sidmouth International Folk Festival and
the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank. Several of
the groups he has been involved with have toured
internationally.
With the group 'Millan', he travelled for three
weeks in Norway, performing concerts across the
whole country. He has been to France with 'Roots
Progress', conducted by Roger Watson. Additionally,
he toured in Switzerland with an Indian group playing
Indian classical, Ghazal and folk music.
Festivals
Iqbal has performed at many festivals playing styles
ranging from jazz to world music. The festivals
include those linked below.
Other
He has also played at village halls, sports events
and shows such as the Southampton Boat Show.
Iqbal plays at Indian weddings and festivals with
a well-known London based music group called Bansari.
